and the manufacturing process begins.
Each one of them is given shape through
the hands of atelier staff,
factory workers, craftsmen, and many others.
A small museum
to feel the background
of minä perhonen's designs.
minä perhonen's craftsmanship,
from its beginnings to its completion.
A place to enjoy anonymous food utensils that transcend time and nationality like art museum. This museum was produced by Uchida Koichi, a ceramic artist and modeling artist. The large barn-like building, one of the largest clay wall build structure in Japan, the concept is "food. Various tools related to "food" made in various parts of the world in the past are selected from a unique perspective and displayed as if they were works of art. We have a diverse mix, from items that look like they were buried in a flea market overseas to rare and valuable art pieces that are proudly displayed in museums. We leave it to the viewer's sensibilities and allow his or her imagination to run free to some extent. We also consider the educational aspect. For example, when children come on a field trip, we want them to think, "What are these tools for? We hope that children will naturally gain awareness and learn while playing with these tools.
